She currently lives and works in New York.

The Platform

Lan Space was originally founded in Beijing in 2008 by Shilan Shi (石兰), and expanded to New York in 2025 with the establishment of Lan Space NYC. The gallery now primarily operates from New York while maintaining an ongoing dialogue with its Beijing origins.

Lan Space NYC works with emerging and mid-career artists whose practices engage with contemporary cultural conditions across painting, sculpture, photography, and installation. Through exhibitions and collaborative projects, the gallery creates a platform for experimentation and cross-cultural exchange, connecting artists with international audiences.
